Bunyip State Park

Bunyip State Park is 16600 hectares in size. The exceptional natural condition of much of the Park, with its diversity of flora and fauna and high landscape values, creates a distinctive bush atmosphere. Visitors can discover the park on foot along the many tracks, picnic at Mortimer or Dyers Picnic Ground. Explore Four Brothers Rocks, go mountain bike riding, camping, trail bike riding and four wheel driving.The Bunyip! Beware of the Bunyip, a dark furry animal with a round face, small ears and fiery eyes that glow in the dark!

A 10 minute walk from Puffing Billy Station. A stroll along the nature trail will dwarf you among the giant mountain ash.

Kurth Kiln Park

Regional Park, 3,500 ha of natural picnic ground with many walking tracks along Tomahawk Creek, great for bush walking, horse riding or weekend camping. Located just 7km from Gembrook, the park is mostly known for its kiln used during the Second World War to make charcoal for gas producer units fitted to motor cars. The 'producer gas' was a substitute fuel for petrol which was rationed at the time.
